Welcome to Crosstimbers Ranch! Crosstimbers Ranch is Model Horses, and some Other Stuff. Morgans are the "mane" thing here, some real, some models.

These two Morgans are horses I showed when I was younger. (left) Braeburn Lass (Waseeka Markab King x Linda Dee) pic taken 1979 and (right) Merlin Highwayman (UVM Sinbad x Merlin Moonstone) pic taken 1981

Here is a link to a horse I think is very special: "ROADIE" You should check him out just because. Go ahead. He's GORGEOUS!

A long-time dream has finally come true:  CLICK HERE!!!

These are some of my Breyer Morgans on the "Justin Morgan" mold.

This is Captain In Command, my first customized model, purchased in 1990. He is "retired." "Cici" was created by Judy Renee Pope and Paula O'Keefe and painted by Laura Behning.

Part of the fun of collecting and s howing model horses is pedigree assignment. I have a Morgan sire and dam list. Click this picture to visit.

These are some of my favorite (real) Morgan links:

My friend Gail Robertson and her Lippitt Morgans at Open Road Morgans

Cece and the folks at Greentree Ranch.

The real Morgan Horse official web site

Click here to learn about my very favorite family of the Morgan breed.

Want to learn more about Morgans in general? Click on the stallion. (I'm not real fond of the photos, but the text is great!)

Did you know Morgans come in "other" colors, such as buckskin, palomino, and grey? Click the rainbow for the Rainbow Morgan Club page.

The magazine SIMPLY MORGAN. This is a paper-bound magazine (similar to our hobby magazines) that is free of the glitzy and glossy hoop-la found in the regular Morgan Horse magazine. If you want a true picture of what a Morgan really is, this is the publication you want.

The Heart Of Texas Morgan Horse Club, my "real" Morgan Horse club.

The American Morgan Horse Historical Photo Archive Neat page!

The Historical Morgan Website. This site has some more historical photos, plus a few articles.

Here it is, the legendary website you've heard about: The Model Horse Gallery. All kinds of model horses, alphabetized by Artist, and by Manufacturer. There are also sections for tack and costumes.

"OTHER STUFF"

Don't forget to PRAISE THE LORD!! "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." [Proverbs 3:5,6]

A very big source of encouragement in my life is Revive Our Hearts. This is a radio ministry led by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. She teaches women how to fulfill God's will in their lives. She also has books and tapes available. I had the priviledge of meeting her! She was in Houston a few years ago promoting the radio show. What a wonderful lady!

"ABOUT ME"

Well, time marches on, we get older, have children, and one day you wake up and none of your clothes fit, you look not-so-great in pictures, and suddenly your doctor is very concerned about your blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. You say "when did I get OLD?!" Being an active person most of my life, and pretty healthy (I think), this news was unacceptable to me. So I've changed things in my life. The first positive change I made was taking Tae Kwon-Do. I did this for a year and 4 months (until financial reasons forced me to quit). I am very proud of my green belt/blue stripe that I have earned. That's halfway to a black belt! Not too shabby for a 43 year old mom of 4! I took my classes at Eclipse Tae Kwon-Do (formerly Unified Tae Kwon-Do) in Eagle Lake, TX, with Master Clay Hosman. This was alot of fun, and very good for me, mentally and physically. There is an Eclipse Tae Kwon-Do in Brenham that we worked closely with. Their website has very good information about the school.

This is the group of students I worked (played) with when I started. This was after my second test, August of 2005. I earned my yellow belt. My instructor, Clay, is on the right. The instructor on the left is Master Gus Pennington, from the Brenham school.  My oldest son and youngest daughter are also in this picture.  They took class with me for awhile.  My son earned his yellow belt, and my daughter earned her yellow stripe.

This is me getting my green belt, in February of 2006. Those red things on my feet are sparring pads. The ones for my hands are in front of my knees, just out of the picture. My face is red (seems like it was ALWAYS red in class!) because for our tests we have to do patterns and then "spar" - fight. I wasn't particularly fond of the sparring, preferring the patterns, but that is what testing and growing in Tae Kwon-Do is all about.

These days, I am following a plan outlined by Tom Venuto in his Burn the fat / Feed the muscle book. I want to lose 34 lbs. and have an 18% - 20% body fat. This will put me back to my weight in between child #2 and #3, and it is a healthy weight for me. My blood sugar and blood pressure are under control, hopefully enough I can go off my meds. My doc said if I lose the rest of my weight (20 lbs) by my May appointmet, she's 95% positive I can get rid of my BP med AND both my sugar meds.  That would be fantastic!  Not to mention how HOT I will look again - HAH!.

This cute graphic is tracking my progress. My next major weight goal is March 26, 2008.

My other hobby is doing my family genealogy. I have another site dedicated to just that. Click to get to that site.
